Binding, Iron
Themes: Iron, Control, Oppression. This magic smells of rust and blood
This tome is efficient and stale, a heavy tome bound with an iron lock. The pages inside are not inked by hand but my machine, the letters and picture stamped onto the parchment.
Cantrip: Cold Iron
You may enchant weapons and Armor made of iron to be supernaturally effective against magic, on hit applying a condition Bound that reduces the MD of the next spell cast by 1 for 3 turns.
- Hold Being

Conjured chains bind a being in place preventing them from moving.
You select [dice] beings that you can see and bind them in place with conjured iron chains, immobilizing them. The creature may save to instead be Restrained. The chains can be destroyed by being delt [sum] damage.
- Stillness

You strike an iron bell and an area of [sum] ft radius around you is stilled. Within this area all creatures move half the distance and all damage dealt is halved as the violent energy is slowed, spells cast in the area halve their [sum] and [dice] values.
- Barrier

An opaque barrier with [sum] HP is formed, in any shape of [dice]x5 sq ft. Magical damage is halved against this barrier. This barrier remains stationary where it was formed.
- Stall Spell

When you see or hear a spell being cast you may bind the spell for a moment, by casting this spell with [dice] equal to the spells dice. The spell will not take effect, being bound by your magic, however if the caster can retain Concentration on their spell then it will be cast after [dice] turns at double the dice and with [sum] added to it's sum.

Up to [dice] portals such as a doorways, windows or magical portals that can be seen are bound shut with a collective [dice] iron chains. If a barrier, such as a door, is present it is sealed and must be destroyed alongside all the chains to open the door. Each dawn 1 chain on each portal will shatter.
- Command

You shout a command of [dice] words, up to [sum] creatures of your choice who can hear you must save or instinctively follow the command for an action. Allies who are commanded gain +[dice] bonus to complete the command.
- Unbind
Slow
You shatter [dice] MD of ongoing binding1 spells within medium range, for each spell broken you may deal [sum] damage to all creatures within 30ft of the spell, saving for half.
Binding includes those of the Iron, Silver and Brass tomes alongside any other tomes agreed by your GM to be binding spells.↩
